Asked: Can they "put down" a parrot for making racial slurs?
I met a racist parrot today who was once owned by an unscrupulous bigot. If I adopt this parrot and it insults someone before I can re-train him, will charges be brought against me? Is it like when a dog bites someone and they have to put it down?

No I don't think they would put down the parrot! Does the parrot say full prashes or does it say single words like the N word? If you do mean the N word and someone hears the parrot say it you can always say that "She is saying nicker, it just sounds bad" or stuff like that. Find words similar, if its full phrases then try to keep the parrot away from others till it's trained.

If you haven't expressed your state of near depression to your parents, try sneaking out. I know it sounds bad, but you need to get out of the house. Or try expressing to your mother that you are seriously getting depressed from being inside all the time. Maybe she will listen to you more and help you with your father. If not, try getting a job. I know how lame that sounds, but hey, you will get out of the house and be making some extra cash.
