i was doing newspaper round and as i went into the house, half way 2 dogs came running, first dog seemed to be female and did not bite but just sniffed me and went away But the male looking one bit me on my arm but luckily as i was wearing jumper, it made holes in it but the teeth did not break through my skin in no sign of bleeding just a bit redness and had very aching and painful arm yesterday but has improved a lot, and should i inform the owner about letting the dogs loose like that, because i have been doing paper delivery to that house for ages and never had a dog bite me like that.

Meh if it didn't break the skin I wouldn't worry about it, just rub it with some rubbing alcohol. As for the dogs, if this is the first time I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if it happens again you should tell them.

There is no need for you to go to the DR if there was no blood shed, but you do need to talk to the owner of the dog!

You must inform the owner of the unprovoked attack. The owner should have a Rabies test done on the dog and inform you of the results. The owner should pay you compensation for the attack. The physical wounds may be superficial but the psychological wounds may never heal. You will always have some fear of dogs now.

If the skin didnvt break you dont have to worry about infection. You may find some bruising but thats nothing to worry about. Just ice it, take an anti inflamatory (like aleve or advil) and rest it. If the pain become too much you should get it checked out because that means you may have an underlying injury. You absolutly MUST tell the owner. A dog can be put down for biting another person. They should keep better track of their dogs. You should file a report with the police to ensure no one inclluding yourself gets hurt again. Feel better. I hope this helped.

Inform the owners, and the local police, or animal control officerabout the loose dogs, and what he did to you.You may save a kids life by letting the officer know so he can talk to the owners, and let them know of the problem with the dogs running loose… Remember this is about what the dog may do to someone else in the future.I am glad he didnt' break the skin.

The one and only time I got bit by a dog was when I was on holiday in America and myself and my cuz went to her friends house where they have a huge dog. They knew I was coming and had a hold of him to let him see me but he launched himself at me from their stairs and if I hadnt put my arm up he would have got my face. He didnt break the skin but there was a heck of a bruise and very sore for awhile. I know I travelled far enough away to get bit,all the way from Ireland. I didnt go to Dr as there was no blood just put an ice pack on and it was fine. I also havent developed a fear of dogs

No – only if the wound bled (broke the skin) and even then much as you might have needed some antibiotics, and check your tetanus status, provided the dog was not rabid, and utd with his boosters, hospital wouldn't really be needed.You may well have been bruised which would be painful but that will pass.

I'd have a serious word with the owner of these dogs – they risk being reported for not having them under proper control, especially when it comes to people making deliveries!
