Feeding raw meat alongside dry food?
deFROSTing Asked: Feeding raw meat alongside dry food?
Now, this is about a cat, so you may wonder why Im posting this in the dog section. Its because I have never gotten a sensible and educated answer in the cat section, and I know that a lot of people here have experience with raw diets, and I figure at least some of them must have dogs AND cats.
So my main worry is this. Before, when my cat was younger, she would catch and eat little forest creatures all the time. Mice, rats, birds, hares, you name it, shed eat it. However, she is 15 years old now and has arthritis. She was put on hills prescription diet by the vet, and it has seriously improved her condition over the last year, so I dont want to take her off it. She has stopped hunting in her old age and spends most of her time inside. I know Hills isnt the best quality food as far as meat goes, so Im worried she doesnt get enough. Im pretty clueless about raw diets and even though Ive googled it, theres too much info, and most of it is for dogs, so Im afraid to do anything. So far, Ive just fed her a few pieces of meat or some unsalted and unseasoned fish when Im already cooking it for myself.
If you have experience with this or know of any good resources, I'd be very happy. Thank you.

I would say try giving her a grain free cat food. Too many pets suffer from malnutrition due to homemade diets so unless you have a degree in cat nutrition try feeding her a grain free cat food like innova prime.
