I don't have a solution for the whining. I would like to comment on your plans to breed your dog. The following is from my archives and it refers to a female, however it takes two to tango. Please show this to your friend who has the female.
Today I visited several rescue homes; I will not bore you with why I did this. Apparently at the beginning of the month there were hundreds of dogs that were abandoned. I was told that some of them appeared to be purebred and they were adopted, however there were others who were mongrel and crossbreeds. The rescue centres cannot cope with these dogs and they are scheduled to be euthanized later this week.
If you love your dog, perhaps you will want her to have puppies. I can understand this, because you may think that you can reproduce your wonderful dog.Think about this. If you look at the diversity of the puppies temperaments that were produced in the same litter as your beloved dog, you would appreciate that you can not ever get another dog like the one that you have now, your dog is unique.

The facts and figures about having just one litter would blow your mind. There are kind and caring owners who desperately want their delightful dog to have a litter of puppies and they have homes for them all. These kind and caring owners do home checks and they think that this is the end of their obligations. Unfortunately these puppies go on to produce puppies. In the interim some of them are abused and left alone to suffer. Lots of them are used as breeding machines to produce several litters of puppies.

At the end of the day, one litter of puppies produces thousands of puppies which are ultimately euthanized. Please before you endanger your dog by mating her; visit a rescue home where they have no choice other than to kill healthy dogs.

Dogs are pack animals, and they will always look to the pack Alpha.Since your mom is obviously in charge of you, the food, the discipline, and so on she is therefore the Alpha.

Certain breeds of dog will only ever have one 'master', its not that he doesn't like you, but dogs are pack animals and clearly it thinks of your mother as the leader of its pack. If you aren't normaly the one to train and correct him, or lead him when out for walks, then you won't be seen as his pack leader. He may also be sensing that you are angry with him, and if you don't take care to keep that in check, then of course he will go be with someone else.You can still play with him, its just that at the moment, he looks to your mother as his master, and sees you more as a fellow pack member.

Dogs look up to the one who provides for them.
If she's the one doing the feeding, walking, correcting, grooming, everything that shows that she cares for him and his needs, then he'll show more respect to her. To him, you may just be a playmate if you don't feed him, walk him, etc. Try stepping it up a notch in caring for his needs. That doesn't mean feeding him once a month is going to win his respect. If you want it, put in the effort. You need to be committed to your dog. If you're not committed, but your mom is, then she'll get the respect.
