I found a baby duckling. Help?

I found a baby duck abandoned by a lake. Around there I've seen muscovy ducks so I think it's one of them. I think it's a few days old. At first it was scared of me and i thought it died cause it wouldn't move but then it came awake. I'm keeping it in a cage with water a blanket and some crackers. I have a lamp over him constantly. I tried letting him swim in my bath tub but he didn't seem to like it. Why? And what do I do with it? My house isn't the best for a duck. I have a dog and a cat. My girlfriend wants to keep him but I don't think it's a good idea.
Also he's becomming attached to me. He insists on laying on my neck and won't leave my side but I've only had him for 2 days? I don't know what to do!

Jarred is correct. Drop him off by the lake now and the Mother duck won't take him. He'll be a loner.

Keep him, hell die if you take him back to the lake, since the baby has been touched/handled it kinda leaves somethin on them i dont know and the mom , its kinda like shell think its dirty, and she wont feed it, so keep it, i had a duck ounce, i named him Mr.Quackers, i found him too, he was a sweetie pie, also try feeding him some worms
