I'm 15 years old, and I know that I'm blessed to have parents who look out for me and want me to be safe, but it's starting to get a little ridiculous. My parents are Asian, so you can imagine how strict they are.

I live in a town that has literally 0% crime rate, and since it's summer I'd thought that I'd be able to go out once in for all. Nope. My parents literally keep me locked inside the house, and I'm not even allowed to go out during the day even if it was only for 2-3 hours. Summer's almost over and all I've been doing is sitting at home on my laptop. The only time I ever go out is to walk my dog for about 10 minutes.

I know that one of you are going to tell me to sit down with my parents and talk to them in a nice manner, but whenever I bring up the topic of letting me go out my dad starts yelling and screaming and it's actually kind of terrifying. He tells me that he does not want me going out when he's at work and also mentions the types of 1 in a million chance type of scenarios (rape, car crash.. etc)

I seriously feel like I'm going into a state of depression, none of my friends ever ask me to hang out anymore because I always say no, or make up some stupid excuse because my parents won't let me, and I'm starting to feel really depressed and alone. Currently it's bright and sunny outside, but I'm sitting in my room by myself because my parents won't let me out. Someone help?

Invite your friends over, you guys can just hang out in front of your house or your backyard. Ask for a sleepover. And tell your dad to buy a small pepperspray for you so that you can convince him that you have something to protect you with if you go out. My dad won't let me go out (to the mall or park) without my pepperspray

Tell them you got to be used to being out on your own because your going to be out there in the work soon and all your friends get to go out eccecpt for you and start fake crying .I'm 13 and I can go to the mall skating and to the beach with my friends.

If you haven't expressed your state of near depression to your parents, try sneaking out. I know it sounds bad, but you need to get out of the house. Or try expressing to your mother that you are seriously getting depressed from being inside all the time. Maybe she will listen to you more and help you with your father. If not, try getting a job. I know how lame that sounds, but hey, you will get out of the house and be making some extra cash.
