Okay well I have 2 dogs. 1 is a Toy Fox Terrier that is 3 years old and her name is Bella. The other is a 7 year old Keeshond and his name is Fluffy. Bella was my dad's dog and he got her from a BYB. He had her for 2 years and in the first year him and his wife tried to teach her to use a potty pad but it didn't work and they hit her and stuff when she did something bad. After a while they broke up and she kept the dog and then we were looking on craigslist and we found Bella on there for sale so we bought her back. My dad abused her when he got her back. She was left in the garage all day that was covered in pee and poop and her bottom and stomach were stained yellow from laying in pee and she was way too skinny i think she weighed like 5 pounds. They hit her and screamed at her and I don't even know what else they did to her. My mom finally agreed to let us take her and now she has gained weight and is a lot healthier… well she may have gained a little too much weight but were working on that. Anyway she has a lot of behavoral probloms now. She is very very aggresive towards strangers and it takes her like a week of being with someone 24/7 to get used to them. She like growls and trys to attack and her mouth foams and her fur stands up on her back. I've tried doing a lot of things to fix this but nothing seems to be working. She also barks and crys non stop. She trys to run in front of cars and bark at them, she isn't potty trained, she can walk good without a leash when nobody is around but as soon as someone walks down the street she goes and attacks them. She doesn't listen either. I've tried to fix all of these but nothings working so I need your advice. She is just the sweetest dog when there arent strangers around and she has this really cute personality but i want strangers to see that too instead of being scared of her and I want her to be able to play with other dogs nicly.
Fluffy had hypothyroidism so he is on medication and gets his thyroid levels checked every 6 months. He gets hot spots and he is always scratching and biting himself. I know it isn't a food allergy causing it because he is on a grain free food and his treats are grain free. His fur also grows back really slow and his skin has like black spots where hes had hot spots. I've heard about different supplements for stuff like this and I think that solid gold seameal sounds like the best… what do you think? Oh and he is pretty good behaviour wise but he has a few problems like barking when food is around or at people or dogs (friendly bark at people not so friendly bark at dogs) He also tries to run in front of cars and you cant let him out without a leash or else he will run away. Oh yeah and Bella is also very scared of thunder, and fireworks.
Can you give me some suggestions of like supplements you think senior dogs should take, some advice on how to train my dogs, and some dog products that you use that you think are really good… Oh yeah and Fluffy hates being groom he trys to bite when i brush his teeth or touch his paws and Bella does the same thing. Fluffy also wont let me blow dry him and sometimes trys to bite when I spray him with water for a bath. Any tips, products, suggestions are helpful. Oh yeah and my mom wont pay for a pro trainer so i cant do that. If these problems are still going on when I'm 16 and have a job and a car ill take them to a trainer but right now i cant. Oh and Fluffy always almost bites you when you try to give him food and he freaks out and begs like crazy when there is food around. Oh yeah and if you could list like your favorite pet products that would be very helpful like your favorite grooming supplies, dog food, brand, supplements, bowls, and whatever else because I'm looking to try new products.
