The SPCA/Humane Society of Prince George's County, Inc. was established in 1976 and chartered by the State of Maryland as a nonprofit organization whose primary goals are preventing cruelty to animals and ending pet overpopulation. Among other offerings, we provide low-cost spay/neuter services, dog and cat adoption programs, and humane education and cruelty investigation. We are an all-volunteer group and we can always use more help! Our great volunteers help by fostering animals, returning phone calls and e-mails, handling dogs and cats at adoption shows, transporting animals to those shows and to vet appointments, conducting homevisits (of potential adopters), photographing cats and dogs for our website, helping out with fundraisers and other events, working at our low-cost shot clinics, researching reports of cruelty to animals, and educating the public on animal-related issues. Come get involved!
