I was wondering why so many Husky owners have a seemingly lack of faith in their dog? I wanted to know if there is a specific reason as to why they refrain from letting their Husky do many things that they will let their other breeds do? Some examples are letting the dog off the leash and leaving the dog alone at the house. I have a 5 month old Siberian Husky and I feel as if I have much more faith in her than most other owners do with their huskies. I let her off leash, I walk her around the neighborhood off the leash, I let her wander when I take her up to the mountains, and she always comes back on command. I understand that they are naturally lively, and like to run, but that doesn't mean that you can't teach a Husky to return. I always felt like I would need to ACTUALLY let her off leash when she was little in order to teach her that being off leash is no big deal, and it seems like this has payed off. She has been alone at the home occasionally for 5+ hours and she rarely ever causes any trouble. Did I just luck out with this husky? Or can anybody clue me in as to why other husky owners are hesitant to put this "trust" in their dog?
