Forever Asked: Sending an Ex a Christmas Card?

An Ex's Christmas confuzzle puzzle?
So my ex, whom I dated for a year and split with 8 months ago and haven't spoken to since really, sent me a Christmas card. Not just any Christmas card either, it was addressed to myself, my current boyfriend and my child with a nice message from him and then a picture of himself with his new girlfriend and all 5 of their kids and 2 dogs. His current GF he began dating a week after I split up with him, though he was apparently devestated when I did so, he appeared to have bounced back as some men tend to do. That didn't bother me, we needed a clean, cold split as remaining friends with feelings involved was out of the question for me although he wished to do so in hopes of winning me back later he said. He is very open, honest and straight forward in his thinking and feelings.

We have not spoken in 8 months and do not travel in the same circles though so I had all but forgotten him until this nugget arrived in my mail the other day. He knew my boyfriends name and included it on the card which I find to be kinda creepy as I never told him and my FB is private but ok maybe he talked to a friend of mine at some point. Does anyone else find this an odd move though? Has anyone ever sent a happy family christmas card to their ex who supposedly broke their heart? What is the purpose in doing that? I don't know whether I should respond or ignore it. Unsure of whether he's fishing for attention or trying to prove something or show me how happy he is now or what. It's great though honestly! His new GF is beautiful and I am very happy that he found someone in which to share his life with as I felt terrible that I couldn't give him the kind of relationship he wanted and needed when I split it off from him. I am very happy with my boyfriend and have no ill feelings towards my ex at all, he's a great guy who was just wrong for me but deserves every happiness … I just have never experienced this kind of manuever before. Seems a little manipulative and spiteful yet at the same time perhaps he's just wanting to let me know there are no hard feelings and he's happy too. What do you think?
