I've never owned one but I think they are beautiful. How much do they cost?I have one dog already (sweet basset dachshund mix).I have an electric fence. Are Scottish Deerhounds good with kids and visitors? Thanks!

I assume you grasp how big they can get? LOL!
They are very friendly and gentle dogs, but are not good with small children or old people because they will knock them down when something "catches their eye" and they take off after it…
But they are wonderful creatures!
They are large dogs and get along with kids and other pets, but they may tend to chase smaller animals due to their hunting instincts. They are polite around strangers, in fact they're too friendly to be guard or watch dogs. There's a bit m,re info at http://www.bestfamilydog.co.uk
Its best to do some research on a pet your thinking of getting especially if you not too knowledgeable on the sort of breed.Once you have read up on the breed I guess you can make your decision from there. Its always best to chose the dog you want yourself but its also good on getting advise, but at the end of the day the choice is yours. All the best on your decision.
If you need to ask how big they are and how much they cost, you didn't do enough research on the breed.
Do your own research.
