I used to have a puppy that i had from 4 weeks to 12 weeks of age. I had to give him up due to my step dad that feels really bad now & part of my family. Anyways it has been 2 months since i gave him up i did see him once in a while, but the new owner took it to the animal shelter. I wanted him back, but it was to late. I cry sometimes & i was over with depression, but got it back after he left. He was a puppy so he was a disaster lol, but i loved him. I keep thinking no one will adopt him in it makes me so sad i feel like i just killed my friend '. How long do they keep dogs or puppies before putting them down. My mom friend was the new owner in she had puppies, but i made my mind up not to get 1. Will someone adopt him he was a poodle name Fluffy, but she called him spike. Also can i check my local animal shelter in research him name or not i really want him or need to know if his ok ( been adopted). Plz no mean comment & thanks '.'

I am sick of this dog, it's my sister's dog and she goes to university 7 hours away…My mom refuses to get rid of this dog and keeps saying "oh she will take the dog soon". I always have to take care of her…she is crated for a few hours everyday because I have parrots and she has already broken out of the crate and killed one. My sister hasn't really lived here for like 5 years she goes to friends and such. I would love to have my birds out all day everyday but I can't because of this dog that I never wanted. I always have to be super cautious because of this dog and I hate it, If the dog kills one of my birds again, I will kill the dog, I don't care if it's instincts or not.

there is a VERY sweet pitbull next door and she gets along very well with my dog she's a mastiff. Well I feel bad for the dog next door
because they don't feed her. when she comes in our yard which is alot I feed her and give her water. She loves me she won't leave my side and she hates it when I take her back next door. My mom can sometimes hear a dog crying next door like it's in pain and I know it's the pit because their other dogs have escaped I've seen it. You can see her bones and it worries me. Pls. help me answer thisI have reason to believe my caretaker neglected my dog and let him die or purposely killed him! I found my beloved pet dead when i returned from a 3 day emergency trip. His caretaker said he passed away the night before but his body was already showing signs of edema and bloating and he was already emitting a strange odor. I need to know how long my baby's been dead.

Based on my CCTV footage i saw proof of neglect which i believe may have been done on purpose so that once my dog died he can be sold for consumption(dog meat is commonly eaten in my community)There's no other reason why the caretaker would have lied of his time of death orwaited so long before burying him unless he was searching for a buyer.

Please help me find justice for my beloved friend

to both me and my wife lately. She turned 11 and apparently she thought she suddenly ruled the roost. Well I had a solution for that. Last year when she turned 10, we bought her an American Hairless Terrier.After her last outburst, I took her and her dog outside. I brought my 12 ga shotgun along. And I made her watch me shoot her dog because of her behavior.
My wife thinks I was too harsh on her but she admits that since then, there's been no more talking back, disrespect or slacking off in school.
I realize what I did was harsh but it worked. Who else thinks this was a good idea? My wife is convinced that no one else will.

not thinking i was playing with him and he playfully bit and licked my finger but i forgot i had a cut on that finger

could i get rabies from this ? i am just curious cause it was skin i bit off earlier just biting my nails so it was open when he licked the cut

First off, she has a vet appointment in the morning as is so don't yell at me. I do want to know if I need to pack up and go NOW though. I'm not too worried at the moment since cats and ferrets have relatively the same diet and needs…It is the odor remover I'm most worried about being toxic to her.

I've been giving it to my ferrets for about half a year now, it's not perfect, but it does help when you have extra stinky ferrets and a rude male who gets gas before he has to go and doesn't mind sharing with everyone…

Ahem, anywho, on to the important thing. I can't find anything about how it would effect cats. My older cats never mess with the ferret food or water, but my newest cat we just got in February when she was 6-8 months old…decided she would try it. She got into their food, I give them a mix of the soft and hard 8-1 ultimate(my little female has trouble eating the larger hard food and her brother wont eat it if I mush it so she needed an extra boost with the soft)…and she got some. She also drank some water with the odor remover in it, about 12 squirts in a gallon and a half of water to be exact(that's a lot less than required for that amount of water). I caught her with the food and removed it since I don't want her thinking it's ok to steal their food, but she got about a quarter cup of it. She also decided to be stubborn and get into their tub of water instead of drinking from the two cat bowls or dog bowl. I don't know how much she got since I had gone out with the dog for about ten minutes and caught her when I came back in. It never crossed my mind that she'd get into their stuff, which it should have after the food try. Unfortunately I'm sick and not in my right mind…Prior to this I had fed her some wet cat food(about two tablespoons), that I JUST opened, so I'm not worried about it being that. Nothing was wrong with it and it's brand new. With any other cat I'd sum it all up as over-eating like some do and then throw up, but she was a stray I adopted from a shelter and always eats like a hog and never gets sick. But I also measure out her food, so it's very possible she over-ate…it just seemed more of the drastic type spewing than a cat that stuffed their gut.

In any case…less than an hour later she got extremely ill. She would not stop throwing up. She continued to hack for about five minutes after she got every last bit of…well, everything out. That was about half an hour ago, she has since seemed just fine while I tried to find info on the matter and is now begging for more food and acting playful and alert…and being climbed on by my little fuzzybutts as always.

I know that she got it all back up regardless of it being toxic or not, but that wont have me any less worried if it was, it'll be straight to the animal hospital if I find it is in fact toxic to cats.

whether it be birds, pets, or other critters.I live in the country and no joke I've ran over an animal for every one of the 11 years I've been driving!Its been mostly birds but I have ran over a stray cat which I felt bad about.It's like they run or fly across the road as soon as they see me.Hopefully I never run over any more pet animals, I'd be devastated if I ran over a dog!

Alright so my girlfriend has a 2 year old toy fox terrier. When we started dating she was living with me at the time and the dog was living at her dad's. About 6 months ago we moved into her dad's and she was reunited with the dog. Here's where the fun begins.
This dog is the most un-behaved creature i have ever seen. She didn't ever train him when she first got him, and spoiled him so now he believes he can do whatever he wants to. The dog will bark, whine, and howl whenever you leave it (which i understand since she was gone for a few months before she came back so i get why it may have some separation problems), it has no concept of the word "no", will not listen to any commands, even though we have tried for months to teach it "sit", "stay", "lay down", "stop", and "get down", It is constantly urinating on everything even though we have it on a regular schedule to go outside and he does his business out there. The dog will not stay off of the furniture, walking/climbing/jumping on people's head's, and bodies. He steals food, destroys trash, and takes paper products and plastic into the attic to rip to shreds. We have tried at length teaching him by positive reinforcement when he's behaved, awarding him with treats if he does good, tapping him on the bottom when he does wrong, sitting him in a corner or crating, taking away toys, spray bottles, whistles, pretty much anything we could think of or research. I am at my end with this animal. My girlfriend and i are expecting, she's only a few weeks pregnant at the current time, but i worry about the safety of the unborn child, and it's safety when it is born because the dog believes that everything is a toy or his and has no personal boundaries and will not stop jumping all over her. She has basically given up on training him and i am doing my best but she still allows the dog to sleep with us, and gives into his whims. I think the best option is to get rid of the dog, but she doesn't want to do that.
Does anyone know if the animal is even trainable from my description because with the baby and us having to move we don't have the money to pay for classes or a professional. Can anyone please help me figure out how to tame this little hellion?

I have room for one more pet as my little Thomas died six months ago.Two of my pets are from shelters and one is a stray I found eight years ago.I'm all about shelters and no breeders.But the Dilemma I found myself in years ago was which shelter to go to.I am always torn between a no kill shelter and animal control.I would always want to support a no kill shelter and would feel good about my adoption fees going there but on the other hand the animals in animal control have 72 hours usually before they are killed.It took me over a year to find the right cat for our family by just repeatedly going to different shelters in the area until the cat with the perfect personality finally arrived.Either way, this time I am looking to adopt another dog.Should I keep my search in one type of shelter or another?Should I focus on supporting the no kill shelters and rescues or should I focus on the high kill animal control?

Asked: What to do if a dog chases me?

I go on runs daily on the same route for about a few years now and no dog has attacked me and the only dog that stays without a leash that i can see it quite friendly. But what if one day a rabid/vicious dog runs after me?! Do i kick it? Call Out for help? I am a scaredy cat so i don't think even on a extreme occasion could i make contact with a dog aggressively ( i'll be too scared). Will pepper spray work?

I have two dogs both a very friendly but one is very protective, if i take him with me a lot more will he possibly fend off a dog?

Asked: Was i being stalked by cougars?

A few nights ago i was outside of my friends house waiting in her backyard for her parents to fall asleep so i could come inside, it was around 12-1am. so i was standing near the door in her back yard and i see 2 large animals appear from the other side of the yard (no fences) i thought they were dogs at first but they were just sitting there watching me (it was creepy as ****) so then i was staring closer and i was like **** those are cougars! So i slowly walked to her front door which she couldnt open and waited there for a good 10 minutes which felt like forever but she wouldnt open the door cause she thought i was tripping. But after waiting i walked back around the side of her house cause she finally came out. So we were chilling near her door outside for a bit cause she didnt believe me then when shes not paying attention i see them trying to get closer, you could see them walking up to a nearby bush to hide. So im done now i ******* run inside and shes just chilling there till she sees something move then she comes in too. I never got a picture or saw them completely. But what else could it of been? If it was cougars do you think they wouldve tried to eat me? I was outside with them for a good 10-15 minutes. Oh and by the way i live in north vancouver (if that matter)
