I don't remember the title or author or even the main character's name. It starts out with a woman talking to her cat. The woman is dying and puts a (bracelet?) on the cat like it is a collar. The cat then finds a new home with a couple who have other animals and weird things start happening. The couple tries to get the collar off the cat and can't find the latch. the animals talk in the book but only between themselves. I don't remember much else except that the humans would close the bedroom door before they left and when they would get home the cat would be inside on the bed. I think the other animals were a cat and dog. I kinda remember something about the cat opening a can of food one night when the humans weren't home to feed them.

we want to neuter my dog, but my dad is saying we shouldn't because we'll be taking the madhood away. you can never convince him to neuter animals..but I think it has to he done, there are so many animals in shelters and we don't need over populations of more healthy animals to he stuck in shelters, well that's I think but my dad doesn't care he said it's not right to take the dog's manhood.

Hi there,
I have a english mastiff who is around a year old now. He's massive but he's truly a gentle giant.
Here in Edinburgh I don't even think there is another english mastiff. So his size sticks out like a sore thumb and I'm constantly stopped by people to clap or ask about him.
Anyway, in the last few months there have been a series of dognappings, sadly most of the lost dogs are found a few weeks later dead, and with evidence of dog fighting.
I never usually tie my dogs outside shops to get things, and when I do I get nervous, my other dog is quite skitters and would never allow anyone to take him, (My friend tested him and he howled and cried)
But Booker is so naive, and would without a doubt go with anyone, and I would be scared he'd be used in dog fighting.
Is there anyway I can tie him safely outside without worry? Sometimes it's tedious since I need milk or bread and cant get it because I have the dog with me.

Asked: Has your pet chinchilla ever sprayed you with urine?

Random question I know.. but I never even knew they did this until a month after I got my first chinchilla. She would spray my dogs if they ever got too close to her cage (they stay away now). Then she would spray my other chinchilla as I was trying to get them to know each other. She has never sprayed me before to actually "hurt" me but the other day she got an orange peel out of the trash and when I tried to take it from her, she sprayed my hand lol. Just curious if anyone else has gotten sprayed before???

well in my apartments we arent allowed to have no type of pets AT ALL but i had alot of animals while living here. i had guniea pigs .. hamsters .. parakeets .. && etc. well kittens arent like dogs and dont make alot of noise soo Should i sneak one in?? please dont say no lol i rlly want one…. : ((

My Mother is a crazy. She has been feeding chicken bones to the family dogs since as far as i can remember. She gives them raw meat, and fully cooked chicken bones and god knows what else. When i was a child, she did it secretly and without my brother and sisters knowing.. including my dad. I will tell her repeatedly, she cant do that and explain why and she'll just laugh and tell me i dont know what i am talking about and that all dogs eat chicken bones and its in their nature. i tell her i'm talking about cooked bones and not raw and she just yells and freaks out. she refuses to read an article online about this and wont even look at it. she says crap like, they are lying, nothing you read on the internet is true.. but yet she believe everything she watches on hln, and cnn. she thinks they are more accurate than the internet? my dogs are suffering and i told her i am going to have them put down and call animal control but she'll know that do that and will lie and have me arrested for something. i want to call, or have them shot or kill them myself. also, I would like to know where i can find a place like a Cambodia killing field and turn her over for execution. what can i do. my basset hound is always uncomfortable, she wonders around the house and never seems to be settled and shakes bad. honey is getting the same way. he is an huskey mix.

As a kid (7-13), I had pets (dogs and cats) whom don't get me wrong, I absolutely love them, but they would tick me off sometimes and I'd hurt them. I rarely do that now, especially since we just have 2 cats now (dogs make me angrier, and NO the other animals did NOT die, we find pets, care for them, and give them away most of the time). However, it turns out I'm a kleptomaniac (steals things on impulse), and get excited thinking of someone getting tortured (mental or physical).

Altogether does this make me a bad person? I mean, I do what I can to help others, I volunteer, baby-sit (I don't have urges to hurt other peoples' children or pets), tutor people, try to find things when people lose them (once I found an iPod in the hallway, made sure the owner got it back), talk with people until they feel better about something, care for sick animals (I'm going to be a veterinarian, sounds like a bad idea but I won't have pets of my own unless someone else is there to stop me from abusing them), etc. I know not to have kids (open adoption if I ever get pregnant), I try my best not to steal from friends and businesses, and if I want to hurt one of my cats I let them outside (they're indoor/outdoor cats, if we had a catdoor they'd use it every 5 minutes) before I do something. So am I a bad person?

whether it be birds, pets, or other critters.I live in the country and no joke I've ran over an animal for every one of the 11 years I've been driving!Its been mostly birds but I have ran over a stray cat which I felt bad about.It's like they run or fly across the road as soon as they see me.Hopefully I never run over any more pet animals, I'd be devastated if I ran over a dog!

i rescued a chihuahua on my doorstep near christmas so i dnt know how old he is but he keeps itching hes black so i cant really see if he has fleas but heas near my other dogs and they havent seem to get any nd the other day i noticed my neihbors chihuahuas were itching alot to and they dont have fleas either. he eats his food fine and acts normal and i dont bathe him all the time i do at least twice a month. could it just be because of hot weather because i live in california

I have room for one more pet as my little Thomas died six months ago.Two of my pets are from shelters and one is a stray I found eight years ago.I'm all about shelters and no breeders.But the Dilemma I found myself in years ago was which shelter to go to.I am always torn between a no kill shelter and animal control.I would always want to support a no kill shelter and would feel good about my adoption fees going there but on the other hand the animals in animal control have 72 hours usually before they are killed.It took me over a year to find the right cat for our family by just repeatedly going to different shelters in the area until the cat with the perfect personality finally arrived.Either way, this time I am looking to adopt another dog.Should I keep my search in one type of shelter or another?Should I focus on supporting the no kill shelters and rescues or should I focus on the high kill animal control?

Asked: How come I don’t love my puppy as much as my other dog?

I had an older dog named Zeus I got him at 4 months and instantly became attached, in love and I have had strong love for him and still do after he died at the age of 2 which was yesterday. I got my puppy when my other dog was still alive. I got my puppy named Rocky at the age of 2 months and he is currently 6 months old right now. I became attached with my puppy when we first got him but I wasn't like I was when I got my other dog. I never realized how much I never really loved him until my other dog passed away. When I'm playing or walking with the puppy I instantly think of playing with my other dog. My puppy is always biting my pant legs, annoying me and he just isn't like my other dog who would play but he was more laid back. I feel like now I'm comparing the puppy to my other dog and I don't want that. Am I going to be like this every time I get a new dog? Why am I thinking like this? Was it a bad idea getting a puppy?

I have a miniature Poodle…. His name is Shadow… Maybe 3 months ago while i was laying in bed with my shirt off like usual he comes over and sticks his head into my armpit licking it like he just found the greatest thing to lick in the world.I thought it was a little odd but i let him do it… Expecting him to grow tired of it but now it is a daily thing with him… I'm just wondering if there is something wrong with him… Or me… Some issue that is making him do this…

Asked: What to do while stuck at home for the whole vacation time?

See, I have just recovered from a heart disease (not even fully recovered), and the most extreme thing I can do is travel for three hours at most four times a month or walk 3 flights of stairs. I wanted to put at l least twenty things on my list, so can you please help me? (And yes, I am stuck at "home" for about a summer + 8 months, since I am not allowed to go to school yet.) So yeah, here is my temporary list. Please do give me activities that you think I AM ALLOWED to do. I set some idea of how much I can do above.

By the way, as every month goes on they'll probably get me to do more things, so you can consider any activity that requires things thatare not running or sprinting or anything that can make my heart palpitate.

1. Get a dog.
2. Swim for (at most) 2 hours and 30 minutes.
3. Go for a 3 hour road trip every Sunday to see brother.
4. Draw/sketch at most once a week (It takes me two hours to draw a portrait sketch, so yes)
5. Watch a movie
6. Go see Iron Man 3 on 3rd May (I'm not even sure if I can go to the cinema, but I watch Marvel and DC movies A LOT so at least they get to lower the bar for me this time)

Asked: Has anyone given their dog a subcutaneous fluid drip?

My dog has kidney problems & the vet recommended that she get a liter of fluid (daily for 5 days) given subcutaneously, through a drip from an iv bag.I just gave her her third one and noticed that that was the last of the iv tubes.Are iv tubes intended to be used more than once or do i need to run up and get more of them? The vet & I are kinda at odds right now, she wants to put my dog to sleep (who is acting normal, no signs of sickness) and i am in the process of finding another vet, (ive heard many stories of this vet putting healthy animals down and did get a 2nd opinion that my dog should not be put down from another vet) so i dont want to have to call her unless i have to.

I want a mouse, and my parents wont let me, they think its full of disease. But my dad promised me if I get 3 A's and 3 B's i will get a bunny and if i get all A's i will get 2 rabbits. But before that I want a mouse too, and my parents wont let me. my mom is still dealing with the fact that my dad made the promise, but its a promise and it cant be broken. I am really responsible and I take care of all of my pets. My room is clean too. And also my brother doesn't want any more animals because his friends don't know him for who he really is and he told me he gets embarrassed when his friends come over and see all the pets i have. I have 3 dogs, 9 diamond doves ( in one cage ), a cockatiel, and a turtle.
