My Prime

The warm water washed away my morning fatigue as I softly shut my eyes, thinking back to the refreshing sounds of exuberant screams and swiftly moving feet clanking on the hot black pavement that so often harmonized with the carefree summer air. I thought of how nice it would be to fly away from the suffocating amounts of homework I faced today and return to those days of infinite possibilities. The days of my childhood; where the only constricting feeling I felt was from the too-tight hugs my parents adorned me with.

Without warning I was thrust from my longing by the shaky sound of my father's voice calling through the bathroom door, "Sam, Blaze passed away". Blaze had not only been the dog I'd grown up with since I was only a puppy myself (three years old), but also my absolute best friend. I sprinted out of the shower, racing down the stairs with a too-small towel draped around my waste, stopping instantaneously as I saw the kind eyes that for twelve years had lovingly gazed upon me instead lifelessly staring straight ahead. I felt as if I would throw up my Adam's apple at any moment. With two major tests in my AP classes that morning I had no choice but to go to school. Aware of the time, I dashed upstairs to get dressed, still in complete shock.

After returning downstairs and discovering that my parents had moved her body into to the garage, I opened the garage door and was barraged by a stream of cold air. Knowing this would be the last time Id ever see my best friend, I slowly walked towards her now lifeless and limp body, still in disbelief, to say my good-byes. With one look into her warm brown eyes a shiver went down my spine and I was carried back in time. Back to the days where I would snuggle against her silky black and gold coat after a long, hard day; feeling her soft sympathetic snout nudge against me as she let out a slow whine sensing my sadness.

And then, like a slowly penetrating splinter in my heart I was hit with a wave of regret. Regret that I had just been wishing to go back into the past; acknowledging that the prime of my life had passed. Regret that I had for so long taken the life of my best friend for granted. I had failed to realize the blessings before me, perhaps giving in to the widespread belief in American society that gratefulness, as opposed to wanting more, is clich. I slowly walked away from her body taking a moment to look back and snap a mental photograph of my companion.

As I made my way to school I looked out the car window, noticing the fresh green misty grass, and promised myself that I would live and appreciate everyday in the present; the prime of my life.

Asked: What kind of pet would be good for me?

Okay, so I already have one cat and I love him so much.We had two other cats at one point, but one had a problem with his heart and didn't live long and the other was attacked by a coyote.Even then, my cat didn't get along with the others.So getting another cat is out.
I horseback ride, but the price for the horse, boarding, feeding, grooming, saddle, etc is a little bit too much.So, no horse.
We don't have enough space for a dog, and my dad doesn't like them, so that's out.
I'm scared of hamsters (it's a long story) and I don't like reptiles or birds, so those wouldn't work, and I don't want another fish.And my mom doesn't like rabbits.
So, I know my options are kind of small, and I just don't know what could work.I'm taking all honors and AP classes in high school, and graduating a year earlier (I'm a sophomore right now), so I really don't want to have leave my parents with a pet to take care of.
I guess I'm looking for a pet that has a lifespan of 1-3 years and doesn't take more than an hour to take care of each day (I'm not counting petting it or playing with it, just cleaning and things like that).Price isn't that much of an issue.
Any suggestions?

Is it? There seems to be a lot of animal porn on there, also I heard there is CP too! The reason I ask a lot of people on 4chan get on it, and due to curiousity I went on it to see what it was. And yeah, I saw thumbnails of girls doing it with dogs and stuff. Can I get i trouble for being on this website? Is it even legal to watch animal porn in the US? I already know about CP but will I get in trouble for seeing that thumbnail on there? I'm scared! How come this website wasn't shut down already!
