Asked: New rabbit? help! Please?

I really want a pet rabbit, and i've been wanting one for over a year. I haven't yet got one, but I plan on getting one this spring. My dad has wood, and all the other tools to make a rabbit hutch, but he needs blueprints of one, and I can't find it. I want to keep my rabbit outside in the spring/summer time, but take it inside every night, or when it's storming. Also, I have heard that it is stressful to keep a rabbit outside? I want to keep mine outside so that it can be in the open air, and eat all the grass it wants. There are two types of rabbit hutches, the ones that stand up off the ground, and the ones that are in the air for a fewfeet. I really want to get or make one of the ones that has an open bottom and doesn't rise off the ground. But, I have onr problem, cats. I have a few cats that wander around outside that I'm affraid might hurt the rabbit. I'm not getting one of those Flemish Giants that is like the same size as the cat, but a normal sized one. I do live near a woods, but I have a dog that will keep everything away except raccoons and deer, and maybe a bird or squirrel. I'm thinking that the cats will loose intrest in the bunny after awhile, and that I could get a two story cage that would allow the rabbit to move up into the 'housy' compartment at the top, to escape any cat. Is it okay to keep a bunny outdoors as long as you care/play with/take inside at night? Also, what can I feed my bunny? can you give me a link or picture of a blueprint that could help me? Or even a cage lnk that is inexpensive. I also don't want a cage that would be overcrouded for my bunny. Can you keep only one bunny, or do they need a partner? I would also like some general info about rabbits and their personality. For the cage, I would like a cage in the $80-$130 dollar spance thank you!

That they really really NEED to rethink how they handle our poor dog!?!

I have a 3 y/o male American Bulldog Leonberger cross breed. I love him to absolute death and I am his ultimate person whom he loves to be around.
We got him when he was 8 weeks old because my youngest sisters and my mum wanted one ( i wasnt fussed to begin with, in fact I wasnt even a dog person to begin with.I was already devoted to my Bredli Python!)

They didnt sign him up for training classes, they didnt vaccinate him, he hasnt even been micro chipped! just wormed with those chewy tablets from the shops, neutered and registered for tags

No one in that family that wanted the dog bothered with training him which left me to do it when I got sick of cleaning up his accidents and my mum saying 'It's ok! he's only puppy and still learning'.when they werent doing anything. I had no freakin clue what I was doing and was relying off the internet, he wasnt even that difficult to train. He learned quickly. during that process I caved in to that fur ball.

I ended up having to use the money I was saving for a larger terrarium for my Bredli and some pay i was receiving from my part time job in order to get my parents to vac him just so he could get socialized with other dogs.

I moved out for five months when i went to live with my aunt for personal reasons in another state and only recently moved back in and things for him have changed.

He's packed on some weight, nails were long (i had to then cut them) and the worst of all was when i witnessed my dad drag him over to where he had done a toilet accident, shoved his nose in it, whack him four times and then locked him outside for the night, no kennel, no soft bedding, just concrete.
I was visibly shocked and upset and on verge of tears when i saw that.

Before i left and apart from the accidents he had as a puppy he had NEVER gone inside. I taught him that when the door was shut to sit at the backdoor and bark to be let out plus he would use going for walks as another way of relieving himself. I had explained all of that before I left to them all.

How could i even convince them to let ME take him when I have the money and the home to look after him? i do not feel comfortable leaving him here for the rest of his life. I am already working on housebreaking him again and taking him back out for walks. I dont even feel comfortable leaving him alone for more than a couple of hours on the weekend so I can catch up with friends! We either have to meet up in dog friendly places so I can take him or they have to pop on over.

i now have him sleep in my room and on my bed where he has been ever since he was a puppy and when I was around.

I need some facts, statistics, for and against or anecdotes for the topic.
I am talking about the dogs/cats that are euthanised because they are not wanted (they've been 'on display' for too long') or because they're aggressive because of abandonment or owner problems, etc. I already have the sides for and against about how they're creatures so we have no right to take away their life just because nobody wants them after a certain number of weeks, etc.

I was walking down the stairs with my budgie ( Steve ) and he got startled when he saw my big dog ( Barney ) so he flew off my shoulder and tried to fly to his cage. I right away ran towards him but I couldn't see him when I heard him squawk so I pulled my dog out of the room And I looked around for Steve I couldn't find him when my sister called me over and I saw him sitting on the chair except his wing was bleeding minorly I picked him up but he wouldn't let me see if my dog bit him on just the wing or on the body. I didn't want to make him uncomfortable anyways so he's in his cage right now and he has stopped bleedingand he seems fine but I heard that they might act fine but there not. My mom won't let me go to the vet so I was wondering what would make him feel better or even to help protect him from an infection?

Asked: I can’t afford to move out. But my mother makes my home life a living hell! What do I do?

(I know this is long, but I have to get it off my chest) I'm 21, male, live in the UK (that's Britain, Scotland to be exact) and live at home with my mother and step-father. I do have a full-time job, as do both of them. But, I pay 80 a week to her and I only get 200 p/w, of which I have to pay for and fuel my car, and buy my own meals for work time which typically leaves me with about 30-40 spending money a week.

She says I am lazy, and that I do not spend my days off cleaning (Which isn't even true, but I'll come to that), even though I work a 52 hour week, in a busy bar (which is HARD work) regularly having just 11 hours between long, long shifts sometimes only one day off in a 9 day period. Which completely outstrips her (and my step-dads) 40 hour 9-5 desk job with every weekend off. And yet SHE doesn't do any cleaning on her days off. (I actually do, by the way, in fact today WAS my day off and I cleaned my room, walked the dog, tidied the living area, cleaned the kitchen, did 4 loads of laundry and made a 2 course meal, from scratch, for the family.).

Apparently it was not enough (and I also got in trouble for using the 'good' laundry powder that is for her clothes, as opposed to the own brand I have to use, even though I pay an equal share of the bills and it goes towards shopping).

I'm not allowed to eat any food unless it is at meal times, even though I pay for my share. And I am expected to cook the meals whenever I am in, even if I have just got back from a 6 am til 6pm shift and they have been in since half 5. I even buy my own food too eat, but I get in trouble for keeping it to myself. Even though she does it as well.

Everything I own, EVERYTHING, is paid for by me, not a single item from Christmas or Birthdays, as my gifts are usually tickets for matches and concerts and what not. Yet I get in trouble if I want to sell them on eBay.

The laptop I am typing this on, is the family laptop… Except I bought it. With my money. That I saved. And yet she gets first call to use it.

I can (and have before), walk through the door from a 15 hour shift, and she will tell me (tell me mind, not ask) to make her a cup of tea. The second I get in.

I want to better myself by going to college, which she does support, but only on a course SHE chooses because (and this is brilliant) – "I won't financially support you on a wasted course". So I can't even work towards a better future.

I get in trouble for the smallest thing, she actually had the audacity, the outright unbelievable cheek the other night, when I came in at 3 am from a 10 hour shift, to tell me that I woke her up parking my car and blaring my horn. IT WASN'T EVEN ME! This didn't matter to her though, oh no… It didn't matter that she was in bed by 12 and wasn't up until 9, so even with my interruption (that wasn't me) she still got a good 8 hours, yet I also had to be up at 12:30 for my shift.

Seriously, I cannot stand her. She treats my step-dad no better… I don't know what he ever saw in her or why they married… I can only fathom that she is either incredible in bed or has some kind of hold over him.
