Asked: Why is my dog acting as if hes never been potty trained!?!? HELP!?!?

We just moved to a bigger place because our first baby is coming, and now my dog, 2 year old Maltese, who was VERY good about peeing and pooping outside, gor some reason is now like a puppy again. When we go outside he acts as if he has NO IDEA what to do, my husband and I have waited on him almost an hour before to get him to pee!! Then, he comes in, and poops on our floor. Today he peed right in front of me. He has NEVER even had accidents in the house, and we cannot start now because hes ruining our brand new carpet AND we xant have our baby crawling around on it where he just pooped! Why is he doing this!? Please help, I cant get rid of him because he is a member of our family, I love him too much. What can we do?
