Okay, so I'm 13 years old.
For my birthday I can pick out a dog, and I want to know whats the best dog breed to
I want to know what is the best breed of dog to get for someone, that has the following:
-NOT aggressive
-Doesn't shed too much
-Likes to go on walks
-Small/Medium sized dog
-Doesn't have many health problems
-Long life span
I already have a basset hound, shes 5, and if I get another dog I want it to be a girl(which doesn't really matter).

Boxers aren't small to medium?????? I would get a Staffordshire bull terrier ( Staffy) They are a very much people orientated and love attention. They are known to have aggression towards other dogs but if it has been brought up around another dog it should be fine with it.

I know it's cliche and what not, but you can't go wrong with a shelter dog.
Shelters put dogs through screening processes to weed out aggressive or sick dogs for the adoptable list.
And they can tell you all about the dogs (shedding, walks and such) in their care- or at least they really should be able to.
Mixed breeds also tend to live longer and have fewer health issues. Their range of genetic coding usually make them less inclined to some of those nasty little problems.
Life span, depends not only on the breed- but how you treat and care for it while under your watch.
