We have two dogs already so snake cannot be able to harm dogs.

A corn snake may be a good choice. they are easy to take care or and only grow a maximum of about 5 feet. also, I hate when people say "will the snake eat my dog or Cat?" OF COURSE NOT. your dog could eat the snake though.

I wouldn't really recommend any reptiles to someone under 12, to be honest, unless you're willing to take the majority of the responsibility…
And any snake can harm your dogs. A constrictor (which most common pet snakes are) could strangle it's neck or limbs. A poisonous snake can do the obvious… But I would definitely NOT recommend a venomous snake for a 9-year-old
And all snakes have the tendency to bite.
But I guess a corn snake would be OK, if, like I said, you're willing to help care for it. I've seen many cases where the mother or father (assuming you are the parent figure of this boy) end up being the sole care-taker of a pet, and sometimes get fed up and give it away. I really hate seeing this happen, so I hope you choose accordingly
But corn snakes are one of the nicest snakes out there, and I've had my own experience to vouch for that
*Just so you know, I'm not intending to be offensive in any way… I just stating my opinion on this matter… And hopefully answering your question
they sell products at pet stores that prevent jumping.
