We just moved to a bigger place because our first baby is coming, and now my dog, 2 year old Maltese, who was VERY good about peeing and pooping outside, gor some reason is now like a puppy again. When we go outside he acts as if he has NO IDEA what to do, my husband and I have waited on him almost an hour before to get him to pee!! Then, he comes in, and poops on our floor. Today he peed right in front of me. He has NEVER even had accidents in the house, and we cannot start now because hes ruining our brand new carpet AND we xant have our baby crawling around on it where he just pooped! Why is he doing this!? Please help, I cant get rid of him because he is a member of our family, I love him too much. What can we do?

He seems confused and out of place. Look into Wee-Wee Pads and try to train him to do his accidents there.

Because you took away his peeing place.Dogs are creatures of habit, and where he used to pee at the old house is where he thinks he's supposed to be peeing.He's waiting to see that place again.To you and me "outside is outside".Not to him.You need to retrain him all over again as if he were a puppy.Crating will help you during this process.

It all depends on how much you can handle. In my mind that is way too many, I have one dog, and it's a lot of work. I think 40 is way too many. You should stop buying or wherever you are getting them. If you are the only one caring for these animal I don't think it is good for you or your pets. I feel like you have an animal hoarding problem.
