My dog has very sensitive skin and I first put flax seed oil on her food – 1 t daily – and that helped a little. Then I put coconut oil (same amount) on and her skin is practically cleared up. Is skin the issue or do they not like their food?

Golden retrievers! i have 2 and they never fight, very easy keepers! potty trained quick and they learnedsit roll over shake and lay down when they were 2 yrs old. i LOVE mine. they are super friendly but are good guard dogs and are so loving!!! i also have 2 cats and 2 horses and they are great around them!

Yes,I do think indeed that dogs can be allergic to their food. (My pug ate some rice and she got a bit of rashes) Since dogs are mammals,allergies concerning food is not a surprise. You might have to check where your dog scratches specifically. (My dog scratched her ears,turns out she had an infection,a yeast infection) You have to check really closely where the scratching is. It probably isn't the food,because my dog ate food she was allergic to,and only had a bit of red bumps.

Go out and buy a hypoallergenic food (best bets the vet) use it for a week and see if it helps.
